Role

You will be responsible for working on Data Services projects and delivery from a technical perspective. Typically this will include automation and self-service projects for infrastructure and other Technology teams. In addition to this the Technical Consultant also acts as a trusted technology advisor to the business providing guidance and consultancy as required. In addition you will also be responsible for ensuring the availability of the APEX production and development environments.

This role demands strong technical skills with a focus to ensure efficient project delivery and uptime of the production Apex infrastructure. Working as a member of a global data services team the successful candidate will play a pro-active role in the support of our client's automation and self-service expansion. The role requires strong Oracle Apex Developer, scripting and web development skills.

Responsibilities

Delivery of Projects related to our Oracle Apex environments, and all work associated with our automation and self-service portal.

Support and delivery of assigned project work.

Develop close working relationships with customers who we are providing Apex applications for.

Act as SME and consultant for the Oracle Apex environment and associated applications and tooling, which provide automation and a self-service platform for our business.

Pro-active issue detection and resolution as well as service monitoring.

Service restoration subsequent to unanticipated outages or disruptions.

Driving root cause analysis and resolution to closure. Identification and driving of data services related service quality improvements and engineering deliverables.

Potential to provide out of hours support and Weekend work to support change activity.

Resolution of production support issues.

Escalation as necessary to secure assistance and technical guidance from other Technology teams to resolve support issues.

Management and progression of Action items.

Automation and process improvement of database activities.

Job requirements:

A self-starter, with attention to detail and an eye for good design, that is driven and passionate Excellent Oracle development skills; with the responsibility for the delivery, support and maintenance of reliable, highly available and high performance environments.

Support of Oracle Apex installation and configuration, monitoring and housekeeping, upgrade and patching, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and performance tuning.

Good experience in Oracle and modern web technologies.

Good experience with PL/SQL, Javascript, XML, JQuery, CSS, UNIX shell scripting

Good experience working in a DevOps environment and familiar with CI/CD processes

Good understanding of UNIX and Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)

Strong technical writing skills
